Abstract

The second work by Maxim Kiktev is an analytical overview of old-printed books from Cairo in Dagestani manuscript collections made after data gathered during the archeographic expedition in 2004. These works were spread in Dagestan equally with manuscripts though their number was not so high and usually did not exceed 20 percents of books in private and mosque collections. Besides of local lithographic editions published by Muhammad Mirza Mavrayev in Temir-Khan-Shura and A. Mihaylov in Petrovsk, there were samples of seven Cairo publishing houses among them, mostly those published by al-Halabi family (c. 1890-1900).
