Abstract


In the end of the 18th century Europe received information on events from the other side of the Mediterranean from three sources: travelersʼ memoirs, official data from official Ottoman sources and information from European negotiants. “Note of Constantinople News and Divulgations” is very important against this background. This is the bimonthly chronicle of important events of Ottoman Empire and its capital. The Russian embassy in Istanbul composed for several decades.
